The curriculum at Leeming Primary School is enriched by the specialist programs of Science, Drama, Physical Education, Music, Japanese and Visual Arts.
Science
In addition to our comprehensive STEM program, we also explore the many wonders of the world of science delivered by a specialist science teacher two days a week.
Drama
From time to time, Leeming Primary School students are offered the chance to participate in a 6 week program of drama. This program is provided by a professional drama group.
Physical Education
Physical Education is part of everyday life at Leeming Primary School. Sports captains provide practice for sports games and athletics. The Phys Ed teacher and classroom teachers are responsible for the body of the program.
Junior primary students benefit from an added program provided by a professional physical education group.
Music
Students from Year 1 – 6 are involved in a choral program which includes participation in the District Singing Festival. Throughout their time at Leeming Primary School children will be involved in using tuned and non-tuned percussion. In Year 4 they are introduced to the recorder and in Year 5/6 they participate in a Ukulele program.
Classical Guitar, via the SIMS program, is also available at the school.
Japanese
A comprehensive Japanese Language Program is delivered for Years 1 – 6. Students are able to practice conversations in Japanese and also learn about the amazing culture.
Visual Arts
Students are encouraged to explore and demonstrate their creative abilities through our Visual Arts program. Samples of some of the great work produced are regularly on display in our school reception area.
