Welcome to Term 4 – From the Principal

Welcome back to school for a very busy Term 4.  There is a great deal happening at Leeming Primary School this term, and I would ask you all to stay in touch with what is coming up by reading our newsletter and website.

Because of upcoming events it is important to make sure that students are dressed appropriately for the activities.  Sports shoes on every day would be great (preparations for Athletics, and Edu Dance) and school hats are a must.  According to our dress code, students should not have earrings other than studs or sleepers, and nail polish is restricted to clear.  Some students have been coming to school with long false nails, and this restricts their ability to use the computer keyboards and to participate in sporting activities.

Edudance starts Wednesday, 11th Oct, so please send in the forms and payment for that as soon as you can. A revised timetable can be found here: Edu Dance Timetable

The Athletics Carnival (click here for the program) on Wednesday 18th is always a great day for parents and community members to come along and cheer the students on.  Jumps, throws and 800m races are on Monday 16th October. P

The School Board is holding it’s Annual Open Meeting on Tuesday 24th October at 7.00PM in the staffroom.  At this meeting the Board will report on it’s activities for 2017.

We have attached a flyer to this newsletter about the 1:1 MacBook program, particularly for the parents of students going into Year 4 next year.  Staff will be working on the class lists in a few weeks’ time, and if we have a Year 3/4 composite class, the MacBook offer will be open to the Year 3s in that class as well.

We are all looking forward to a productive and fun-filled term.
