Bedwetting, or nocturnal enuresis, is common in children.
If your child wets the bed you can assist by encouraging good toileting habits, establish a before-bed toilet routine, ensure your child is drinking enough water during the day, and is eating a healthy diet. It is not helpful to restrict fluids before bedtime. Sugary and caffeinated drinks should be avoided.
If your child is still wetting the bed after the age of five, please speak to your local doctor. The doctor will assess your child and provide you with a referral for the Community Health Enuresis program in your local area.
