News From the Principal

It’s hard to believe that it’s the end of Term 3 already.  We have had a really busy term with activities and programs such as swimming, Year 5 camp, Book week, Yellow Safety House day, cross country, new murals in the library, chess tournaments and preparation for the athletics carnival in week 2 next term. We finish the term with Open Night on Wednesday 20th September (5pm – 6pm).

All these great things have been organised by the dedicated and hard working Leeming Primary School staff, and I am proud to be counted in their ranks.

Please make sure that you keep up with what is going on at school by visiting our updated website, and don’t forget to have a look at the photo gallery for pictures of our students participating in our programs.  If your child isn’t in any of the photos, it might be because you have not given us permission to use your child’s image.  Everything on the website is protected, so please check at the office if you would like to see your children in our gallery.

In term 4, could you please make sure that you send notes (and money if necessary) back to school by the due date.  It can be very difficult for office staff as well as class teachers to organise things without communication from you.  If you need to arrange an alternative payment date for an event, please call us and we will accommodate you. Payment for the Science incursion –  A Case of Discovery should be at the office by Wednesday morning (if you have not already done so). Please note that if you have paid the upfront levy a permission form is still required to allow allocation of funds to a particular activity.

With respect for the health and safety of students, no open toed shoes can be worn in the Science room.   We are preparing for the athletics carnival as well, so sensible closed shoes would be great for Science as well as Phys Ed and sports practice sessions.

Have a safe and enjoyable holiday break

Anne Thomson
