Welcome to Week 6
NAIDOC week was fantastic and it was great to see the many great activities that were undertaken.

As a school we are proud of the processes that we have in place to assist students in their transition.
During Week 7 parents and students will receive letters indicating their classes for next year. This is followed by the transition day held on Monday Nov 30. On this day students will spend the morning with their new teachers in their new classes. Students will get to meet their new class mates and start to get a feel for what 2021 will look like.
At this stage we will be unable to use Room 15 and 16 as PEAC are still operating. Ms Sharrock will work in Room 9 and we will find a suitable venue for Mrs Needham’ class.
Beyond this point teachers will take the opportunity to build rapport with new students.
Due to COVID restrictions we are holding the Kindergarten Orientation for new parents in the undercover area. Parents are able to leave their students in the kindergarten area with both of our kindergarten teachers.
Covid restrictions will be in place for this years’ graduation. We will have enough seating space for two family members and this year the year five students will not be present. This will allow us to comply with the 2 square metre ruling. There will be some extra space available around the outside of the veranda. Parents will be asked to socially distance and be aware that if the weather is cold, the roller shutters may be closed. We are investigating our options to ‘live stream’ the event, to assist some families.
Thankyou morning tea
This week we will also be holding our ‘Thank-you morning tea’. It is an important party of our year to be able to thank all the people who have assisted us in making 2020 a successful year. We look forward to seeing you. This year, in line with Covid, there will be pre-packaged food provided.
We have several excursions occurring in the next two weeks. We are proud of the way Leeming students represent the school and it will add to the richness of their term.
Week 7: I have a go and do my best at everything.
Week 8: I respond quickly to signals and instructions.
