From The Principal

Representative events

This term we have the Athletics Carnival in Week 10. Following the School’s Cross country event last Friday, Ms Sharrock and I will pick a team to represent the school at the State Interschool Championships on Friday 10 August.

Following on from the Orienteering that Rooms 1 and 3 did last term, they will be providing a team to represent the school at the State Orienteering Championships on 22 August.

On Friday Mr D’Mello took an open team to represent the school at the Glory Cup soccer. The students performed well and were great ambassadors for Leeming Primary School. The standard was very high this year with an exciting final that went to a penalty shootout.

Emergency Drill.

Last week we held an emergency evacuation drill. We picked a day that was not raining (trick) and called for an evacuation. All of the students evacuated in a calm and sensible manner and all students and adults were accounted for. There were a couple of items that we noticed immediately could be done better e.g. going all the way to the centre of the oval and a few other things that have come out of staff feedback and review. Although every minute of class time is important these drills ensure that we are well prepared  if we need to be.WE will be holding our alternate emergency (lockdown) drill this term as well.

Thanking You
