Parent/Teacher Interviews – 4th April

Leeming Primary School will be holding Parent/Teacher Interviews in the assembly/undercover area on Wednesday 4th April from 3.15 pm – 5.30 pm.    The interviews are allocated at 5 minute intervals per student with a 1 minute transition time.

This is an opportunity to touch base with the teacher but will not allow for in-depth discussion.  The time allocated should be sufficient to update you on your child’s progress and highlight an area where improvement can be made.

Parents are asked to book interviews via our online booking system using the link below. Bookings will be open at 6.00 am Monday 26th March 2018 and close at 12.00 pm Tuesday 3rd April. 

These interviews are for parents/guardians only (students are not required to attend). We ask that you respect the times that have been allocated.

There will be a fundraising sausage sizzle for our Year 6 Graduating students from 3.00pm-5.00pm on the same day (Pre-ordering is required – Click here for more details and order form.)

2018 Leavers Graduation Fundraiser at Parent-Teacher Interviews – Sausage Sizzle

The Leeming Primary School Graduation Committee will be holding a sausage sizzle at the parent/teacher interviews on Wednesday 4th April 2018 from 3.00 pm-5.00 pm. You will need to pre-order by Thursday 29 March 2018.

Orders forms have been sent home with family representatives .

Please place your order with the CORRECT cash into an envelope and return to the school office.

From The Principal

School Board Nominations

The ballot is being held to fill a position of Parent Representative on the School Board. We are happy that there are three interested candidates and it will be a positive process for the parent group to select the representative. It is pleasing to have a good number of voting papers returned already.The ballot box will be in the front office until until 4:00 pm on Friday 23 March 2018.

Glory Cup Girls

On Thursday 12th April the Glory Cup Girls Soccer (Football) competition is on. The team is selected from Yr 6 (mainly) and Yr 5 students. On the day they will play numerous games in a round robin format.  I will start training with the squad this week and then we will begin the tough task of selecting a team. Next week we might train twice a week and the girls are being encouraged to run as much as they can and kick a ball around to build their skills. Any parent who is able to assist is welcome!

The championship for the boys is scheduled for 3 August 2018.

School Sport Advisory Committee

 Last year we started up a sport advisory committee to ensure that the school was meeting the needs of the community. We have met this year and are looking at introducing another sport where the students can represent the school. There will be a survey out soon to pick which sport we should do. If you have strong feelings about an sport related issue please drop me a line or catch up with Deb Korneder .

Cross Country

The school Cross Country carnival will be held  on Friday July 20, which is Week 1 Term 3. We will start training at school during the last weeks of Term 2.The State Cross Country championship is on Friday August 10. We will do a few weeks of “before-school” training with the squad leading up to the championship. Any parent who wishes to come down and help train the students is more than welcome!


This year the staff have kindly agreed to run camp again! This fantastic opportunity is booked for Term 3 (15th-17th August).  The Yr 5 students attend camp at Point Peron and combine fun with cooperative activities. We find that the benefits of camp extend into their time as Yr 6’s.

Camp is quite an expense so if you need to look at payment options please let us know early.

Fun Run

P&C are running their famous fun run again this year. The date is Friday June 1 !

Ex Students

We have recently been advised by Leeming Senior High School that four former Leeming Primary School students achieved an ATAR of 80.00 or higher in 2017. One of these students was also awarded Dux of 2017. Congratulations to these students an a great achievement.

Thank you to Leeming Primary School staff who helped to build the strong foundations during primary school that allowed them to flourish so well at high school.

Student Update Forms

Today we sent home student update forms via the family representative. Please check these thoroughly and make any necessary changes. It is important to sign the form and return it to the school office by Thursday 29th March. Please tick the relevant box to indicate whether any corrections have been made. All forms should be signed and returned regardless of whether any changes have been made.

This process is very important to ensure that parent contact details are up to date should we need to contact you in an emergency. Please return the student update form as soon as possible to the front office.

Sports for School Vouchers – Update

We have already returned three bags full of vouchers to be registered. Please keep on collecting your Sports for Schools vouchers from Coles and bring them to the school office. The last day for collecting vouchers will be Tuesday 3rd April. Thank you to the whole community for your amazing support.

Scholastic Book Club – Issue 2

Book Club Issue # 2 catalogues have arrived.                                                                               

Your child will soon be bringing home the latest catalogue.

Our school receives 20% of sales as reward dollars….so please consider placing an order.

Cash and cheque orders can be left at the front office in the letter box labelled “Book Club”.

 If paying by CASH:

Correct money must be enclosed in a labelled envelope. No change can be given.

Ensure you correctly fill out the order form with your child’s name, room number and a contact phone number.

If paying by CHEQUE:

Please make cheques payable to “Scholastic Australia” and attach this to your order form.

 If paying ONLINE:

 LOOP orders are accepted online.  See catalogue for details. 

Spare catalogues are available from the front office wall display and the library.

All orders for Issue # 2 are due by 3pm, on  Tuesday 27th March.
