Every two years the school surveys the community, staff and senior students. It provides us with valuable feedback on how we are going. This can help us with celebrating strengths and focussing upon any areas that may need improvement. Please take the opportunity to complete the survey (sent via CONNECT on Wednesday) at your earliest convenience. Thanks to those people who have already done so.
Swimming Lessons are going well and it is pleasing to get positive feedback from the swim teachers regarding our students’ behaviour. A big thank you to Ms Thomson for organising this to run smoothly again.
I am pleased to let you know our school has been successful in our application for a specialist science laboratory. Work on converting an existing room will occur during 2020 or 2021, depending upon construction schedules.
We will also receive $25 000 to purchase science resources to equip the laboratory. Funding will be allocated to our school on completion of the refurbishment.
These new facilities will allow us to grow our Science program and motivate and engage our students to excel from Kindergarten right through to Year 6 and beyond.
This Year’s NAPLAN results were pleasing and enabled us to meet our milestones set in our Business Plan. There will be information on this and other data that we collect through the year in the 2018 Annual Report. This will be available at the start of 2019.

Thank you to all the families who have paid their 2018 School and P&C Contributions.
Financial support by parents has always played a significant role in providing resources that extend the school’s capacity to add value to the learning experiences of students. The continuing partnership between schools and parents is vital to ensuring that all students receive a level of education sufficient to carry them forward in today’s society.
The School Voluntary contributions relate to the monies requested from parents towards the cost of materials, services and facilities used by K-6 students in the educational program.
The Leeming Primary School Board approved a voluntary contribution of $60 per student for 2018. This is only $1.50 per week and whilst this is very little individually, if everyone contributes it amounts to a sum that is very useful to our learning program.
The funds collected are used to purchase additional teacher assistant time, playground equipment, reading books, maths, science and history resources, and sport and technology equipment. These resources benefit all students and allow our school to provide the very best learning opportunities for your children.
If you are able to make a contribution for your child/ren this would be very much appreciated. To view the 2018 School and P&C Contributions and Charges Sheet please click here. If you are unsure whether you have paid these contributions please contact the office.
