Leeming Primary School Parents Staying Connected

Thank you to one of our parents who has created an information sheet on how parents can stay connected to what’s happening at our school. Click here for a printable PDF copy

The following suggestions are a great way to stay in touch.

Regularly review the Leeming Primary School Website – leemingps.wa.edu.au .On the opening page, the recent news feeds and upcoming events are a great reminder of things to do and things to come.

Leeming Primary School is now using  CONNECT. You will receive email or push notifications weekly with latest updates from teachers and admin.  So that you don’t receive duplicate notifications make sure you update your preferences/settings when you log into connect.  There is also some helpful user guides in the Library tab on the Connect Site.

Join the Leeming Primary School Parents Facebook Group – Accessible to all current Leeming Primary School students, parents and caregivers. It is a fun and friendly forum, which shares school and P&C related information.  It is completely independent from school operations and administered by two parents from the school.

Every year group in 2018 has a dedicated Facebook Page, for example Kindy Caregivers, Year 1 Caregivers and so on.  Again the groups are independent from school operations and administered (generally) by the year group classroom representatives.

The links to join the various groups are located at the top of the Leeming Primary School Parents Facebook Page, in a pinned post at the top of the discussion.

As the Facebook groups are closed to people other than parents and caregivers, you will need to request to join the Facebook Groups, and provide your child(ren)’s name and class to gain access.

We hope that you join the relevant Facebook Groups soon, but please note that if you prefer not to participate on the Facebook platform, it may be worth mentioning it to your classroom representative, so they are able to keep you in the loop of any other non official school information and events that would be of benefit and interest to you.

Please also remember any communication on the Facebook platform is to adhere to the school parent’s rights and responsibilities charter – to always be respectful, courteous and honest.

Camp Quality Primary School Education Program

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The Camp Quality Primary School Education Program has been invited to perform at Leeming Primary School on:

Tuesday 6th February (Kindy 9.00am, PP- Yr 2 9.50am,  and Yrs 3 – 6 11.00am)

Camp Quality is a children’s family cancer charity. Our purpose is to make a better life for every child living with cancer in Australia.

For over 25 years our Education Program, the Camp Quality Puppets, have transformed thousands of schools by helping children and teachers learn how to create a supportive school community for children affected by cancer, whether they are living with cancer themselves or have a family member living with cancer.

The program consists of a live, educational performance focusing on cancer education, optimism, friendship and tolerance.

There is no charge to the school or the students.

Following the performance, students are encouraged to ask questions and share their concerns. While we are able to answer most of their questions and concerns, we provide teachers with resources to supplement the performance and aid classroom discussion.

Over 4 million children have seen our puppets since the program began.  We trust that your child will benefit from the positive messages throughout our performance.

If you’d like more information about the program, please visit our website or contact Tegan on 6163 5606

Hi Leeming PS Community – further to the launch of our new logo earlier this year, the Board and P&C have been exploring new uniform options to incorporate the new logo.

We are very mindful of the impact such a change will have on our families both from a financial and practical point of view so will be rolling out the new uniform during the course of 2018.

Our P&C Uniform Coordinator Amanda Wilson has been negotiating with suppliers to make this as cost effective and seamless a transition as possible.  The new uniform incorporating the new logo will be transitioned as stock runs out during 2018 with all students expected to be wearing the new uniform by 2019.

Because our school logo is such a recognisable and highly visible brand asset, it is vital that it is always applied consistently wherever it appears.  Therefore, our new uniforms will incorporate the logo in accordance with our Style Guide / as per the colour sample images below.
